Pre-School

This class is for 3-5-year-olds to gain water confidence and experience of being in a class environment, with the emphasis on developing basic swimming skills through fun and games. A parent/carer will need to accompany their child in the water for this swimming lesson.

This will help provide;

  • 1-2-1 support throughout the whole class means faster progression.
  • eases any anxiety/nerves.
  • you copy the instructor and show your child the movements in the water.
  • helps with concentration so key swimming and water safety skills are learned quicker.
  • it’s a fun thing to do together!

Did you know that according to Swim England,

96% of youngsters stop their lessons too early?

By keeping them enrolled in lessons, you’ll ensure that your child will meet these 4 core competencies Swim England recommend as a minimum ability:

  • be able to swim at least 100 metres without stopping
  • be able to tread water for at least 30 seconds
  • experience swimming in clothing
  • ‘float to live’ (performing a star float on their back for at least 30 seconds)
