Changes in our centres

To keep everyone safe, we've made changes to some of our facilities.
Find out more

We've changed what activities we offer

To help us reopen as safely as possible, like with the centres themselves, we’ve chosen to reintroduce our activities in phases – starting with gyms, studio-based fitness classes and tennis first.

We’ll then reintroduce lane swimming, pool-based fitness classes, Nottingham Swim School and swimming clubs, followed by our remaining activities and facilities for hire in due course and in line with the latest guidance.

And there are some age restrictions on who can attend

Children aged 13 and under are unable to access facilities during Phases 1 and 2 of our reopening, including gyms, fitness classes and lane swimming.

Those aged 14 and 15 will be allowed to access gym and identified fitness classes, providing they are accompanied by an adult. Lane swimmers and those playing tennis aged 14+ do NOT need to be accompanied by an adult. See our Terms of Use for more information.

Swimmers of all ages will be able to access their Swim School lesson – you will receive notification confirming the day and time that your lessons will restart.

Children of all ages can attend outdoor tennis under the supervision of an adult at the same booked session.

Carers will continue to be offered access free of charge, but will be required to hold an Active Nottingham account and have pre-booked via the Customer Service team for the same activity of the member they are caring for.

Gyms

We've changed the layouts of our gym floors to enable you to use the equipment at a safe distance from others. Room occupancies will also be limited for your safety. We ask that you wipe down the equipment after use, and we'll be cleaning the gym after each session to ensure it's super safe. We’re not running inductions, but staff will be on hand to help. If you want to remind yourself how the kit works, visit mywellness.com

Group fitness classes

We've reduced the capacity of our group fitness classes to ensure there'll be a safe distance between you and other members. We'll also be sanitising any equipment and areas between each class. Class timetables will be changed, but we hope you’ll agree our new timetable is still great.

Tennis

Indoor and outdoor tennis courts, coaching and social tennis will operate under LTA safety guidelines. Coaching courses will operate under new lower ratios with social distancing measures in place.

Lane swimming

We've socially distanced our swimming lanes, so you'll be able to get back in the water safely. We'll be limiting the number of swimmers per lane to six and there'll be a number of new rules, including arriving swim-ready, following one-way systems and not overtaking in the lane.

Swim School

Our swimming lessons will follow Swim England safety guidelines. We'll operate with lower ratios of pupils to instructors in measured areas of our pools, to ensure we can maintain social distancing. Pupils should arrive swim-ready and follow new rules on accessing and using the changing rooms and pools.
